I’ve been away for a while – there’s been a lot going on. BUT I’m back and ready to upload regular reviews and routines to share with you guys. Please subscribe to my newsletter (on the right) if you’d like emails when I post new reviews. Today we’re discussing this gorgeous Bonair Aloe Toner. Let’s get stuck in…
This product was gifted to me by Mask House UK, with no request for review.
Purpose & How To
On the Bonair website, the description for the product is:
“This essential toner makes your skin moist and tightened with its unique fresh feelings. You can use it at the hydration toner step after cleansing”
It contains fresh aloe juice and extracts (75.16%) as well as oils.
My take on the product was that it’s a classic Korean-style toner for hydrating. I have been patting it into skin immediately after cleansing (or after acids) for several months now.
Product Details & Ingredients
Amount: 150ml
Price: Around $32/£27
Ingredients:
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract(71.16%), Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Propanediol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice(4%), 1,2-Hexanediol, Polysorbate 80, Sodium Lactate, Water, Bacillus/Soybean/Folic acid Ferment Extract, Angelica Archangelica Root Oil, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil, Brassica Campestris (Rapessed) Seed Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Pentylene Glycol, 3-Hexenol, Candida Bombicola/Glucose/Methyl Rapeseedate Ferment, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Xanthan Gum
I was initially surprised by the number of oils in this, but as an oil-lover, optimistic! Aloe is well known for soothing and hydrating, so I was really looking forward to testing this out.
Packaging
The packaging is stunning and unique. A gorgeous two tone green glass bottle with a classic toner dispenser. One of the main things I like is that you can see how much product is left in the bottle! That sounds minor, but I hate opaque packaging and having no idea when I’ll need a replacement. Don’t have that problem here.
Texture & Scent
The texture feels very watery in my hand, however once I apply it to my skin I can feel a very subtle oil consistency. It’s not “oily” as such, but it just has that slight slip and moisturizing feel, which I love.
The scent is like that non-scented scent? Kind of vaguely plastic-y…not sure how to describe it aha. I’m not a huge fan but it also doesn’t really offend me. Unpopular opinion, I actually like scented products, so I’d prefer if this had some sort of subtle scent. But I know a lot of people prefer fragrance-free, so it’s probably a good thing.
Overall Performance
This was one of those products that I was very keen to try, and after several months of use, I’m really into it. On an aesthetic level, the packaging is beautiful and it’s a stunning addition to my skincare shelf. However in terms of what really matters, the experience and results, this toner is very well-suited for my normal-dry skintype.
It’s got the thin consistency that absorbs so quickly but then the moisturizing oils feel amazing on my skin. It’s such a lovely combination of hydration and moisture. You can see in the application photos above, it leaves skin with a glowy, nourished appearance. When using this in my routine, I feel less need to reach for an ampoule or serum afterwards, and can move straight onto cream. It really adds that moisturizing factor, particularly if I do more than one layer, yet it’s still light enough for morning use in a quick routine. Best of both worlds!
Using these type of products- thin and watery but with hydration and moisture – really helps my skin, and are something I talked about recently that have helped me achieve a glow I never thought possible. I used to have dehydrated skin, as I think many people do without realizing, and it was toners and essences that I believe transformed my complexion. This Bonair toner is a fantastic addition to my collection, and one I’d happily recommend.
My only personal improvement would be a scent that I loved, as I mentioned earlier in this review, and perhaps a spray dispenser? Totally personal, I’m just really into low key application right now and a spray makes it easy. Having said that, I’ll 100% continue with this toner and would consider repurchasing. The quality and amount of toner is fairly reflected in the price and the soothing, hydrating and moisturizing results make for a lovely product.
Price & Availability
I received this product as a PR gift from Mask House UK, where the toner is priced at £27. I think this is well-priced considering the quality of the product, the results and the amount of product you get. From what I can see, it’s a similar price in other online stores. Totally justifiable, and a price I would happily pay.
Would love to hear if you’ve tried this toner, or any other products from Bonair!
