Over the past year I have slowly become MIST. OBSESSED. I cannot get enough of them- spritzing after cleansing, between skincare layers, at any time of the day, and as a makeup setting spray. I’m absolutely loving them. But after years of trying so many different mists, I’ve come to learn my distinct preferences. Jin at Tonic15 kindly gifted me the new Klairs Fundamental Ampule Mist a few months ago and I haven’t put it down since. Here’s why.
Purpose & How To
The mist is described on the Klairs website as:
“Antioxidants infused ampule in a bottle of mist for a youthful skin.
The Fundamental Ampule Mist is a Green Tea Water based mist, formulated with rice, cucumbers, okra, and mugwort which is effective for intensive hydration and antioxidant care. With the premium formulation, the ampule mist provides high nutrients to the skin for the skin to shine and look dewy with couple spritz. It also locks in the moisture without any layering for a long-lasting hydration deep within the skin. Don’t forget, it’s a mist but works as an ampule!”
Directions for use: “After cleansing, spray 2-3 spritz on the whole face at a distance of 20cm. Use at any time of day to soothe, refresh and moisturize the skin. Recommended to use the Ampule Mist as a toner during the skincare step.”
I’ve personally been using this either immediately after cleansing, or after my active products, as a toner. I’ve also occasionally used it over makeup to make my face look more dewy! My expectations were that it would boost my skin’s hydration and moisture levels. I also appreciate the antioxidants effect.
Product Details & Ingredients
Amount: 125ml
Ingredients: Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Luffa Cylindrica Fruit Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract, Hibiscus Esculentus Fruit Extract, Betaine, Trehalose, 1,2-Hexanediol, Aqua(Water), Artemisia Vulgaris Extract, Panthenol, Sorbitol, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Laminaria Japonica Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Disodium EDTA, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Ceramide NP
The ingredients list is relatively short with lots of soothing and moisturizing ingredients. It’s also vegan and cruelty free.
Packaging
The packaging is very simple with clear and white plastic. My favourite aspect is the mist dispenser. It releases such a fine, wide spray which is what I look for in a mist. It gently falls on your face and doesn’t leave you with soaked patches of skin and product running down your face. I feel like the light mist allows the product to absorb so much more efficiently and it makes the product stand-out.
Texture & Scent
There is virtually no scent. Perhaps just a very very VERY subtle fresh scent, but I really can’t detect anything more. The texture is and it doesn’t just feel like a very watery toner, because it has more of a moisturizing effect than that. It has a very slight tackiness before completely absorbing within about 60 seconds.
Overall Performance
I just really love this. From the fine dispersal to the way my skin feels immediately moisturized. It balances and moisturizes skin, yet is so lightweight. I think when we compare it to other mists, it the fineness of the application combined with the effects of the formula that make it stand out. A lot of mists just give very light hydration but this gives much more of a moisture boost. A mist is a versatile product and with one I love so much, it slots very easily into my skincare routine. I also think it would work for all skin types.
Price & Availability
The price on Tonic15 is £26. To be honest, this is slightly more than I’d usually be willing to pay for a mist. Under £20 would be my usual go-to price point. However, for a product I love so much, and can be used both as a toner and also in so many other versatile ways, I would be willing to pay that price and it’s lasting really well too!
Have you tried this mist?! I know I’ve read a lot of glowing reviews so I’d love to hear your personal thoughts.

Hi,
I read your article about Klaris Fundamental Ampul Mist and would like to know if I could swap the Supple Preparation Toner with this new Mist for my daily skin routine? Could you recommend that?
So first I clean my face with Klairs Deep Cleansing Oil, then I wash it off with the charcoal soap and then I would use the toner. After that I use the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum and then a face cream.
Do you think the Mist and the Moist Soothing Serum would be too much or too similar?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks so much in advance.
Best,
Conny
