Too Cool For School Haul Pt II: Egg Cream Mask Review

So if you missed Part I, I explained that I did the most random eggy haul from Too Cool For School, and wasn’t quite sure why I ended up with the products I’d bought (and none of the stuff I actually went shopping for). In Part I I reviewed the Egg Mousse Soap and Egg Mousse Pack, and today, the Egg Cream Mask collection!

Egg Cream Masks

I thiiink these babies were why I bought this whole collection of egg products. I’ve wanted to try the masks for a long time, because there’s some serious hype surrounding them. Did they live up to my expectations?

Purpose and How to Use

In this pack you receive:

2 x Hydration Mask ‘to revive and nourish rough skin, and give moisture and radiance’.

2 x Firming Mask ‘to deliver deep nourishment to sagging skin to increase elasticity and firmness’.

2x Pore Tightening Mask to ‘minimize pores and gently treat skin to be more smooth and supple’.

I apply sheet masks after cleansing and toner, and leave for as long as I wish, but usually 30 minutes at the very least.

Scent

All three are fairly similar in scent, and I’m not a huuuuge fan. They smell a little off to me…like, perfumey to cover something else. I found the Firming mask particularly perfumed.

Material and Fit

The material of all three comes with a gauze cover and you have to unfold the mask, remove the gauze and apply. It’s a little fiddly, but I found it easiest to apply the mask side to my face and then peel off the gauze.

The microfiber sheets felt so so so soft and gentle against skin. The adhesiveness was fantastic and the masks stayed firmly in place for the entire time I wore them. The material seemed to hold a huge amount of essence, and worked well to deliver that moisture and goodness into skin. The fit was also one of the most perfect fitting sheet masks I’ve tried for my face shape. Not too wide or too small.

Essence

The essences are gorgeous, and felt fabulous on my skin. The Hydrating and Firming essences are both creamy, whilst the Pore Tightening is clear with thinner consistency. All three felt ultra nourishing, and there was SO much essence in each mask. Dripping all over the damn place.

Performance

For hydration, absolute 10 out of 10 for all three Egg Cream Masks. My skin felt incredible afterwards- plumped, hydrated, and deeply moisturised. I didn’t need to follow up with too many moisturizing steps after removing them, because I felt like I got so much from the masks alone.

In terms of differences between the three different masks…honestly? Not much. But that’s not bad, they are all wonderful! I saw definite temporary brightening effects from all, but mostly with the hydration mask. It was more obvious. Because of the essence of the pore tightening, that mask felt more soothing but I can’t say I saw smaller pores across my big pored nose. All three work well for plumping and firming.

All three also lasted very well for the 40-50 minutes I wore them, and shockingly were still damp when I took them off. I felt like I could have easily left them on for longer before they even began to dry out. No drying in sight with these lovelies.

Ultimately, the masks totally lived up to the hype, and I can 100% say I will be repurchasing them. Everything from the perfect fit, the gorgeously soft material, the abundance of essence, the quality of essence, the lasting time, and the fantastic results, puts these masks among some of the best I’ve tried (and that’s quite a lot).

Where can I buy?

For those of you in Korea, you can waltz into any Too Cool For School Store. I believe the set is 18,000 won, and the individuals are 3000 won. They’re also available on GMarket.

For those of you not in Korea, they are available on Sephora, Memebox, Birchbox and others. They’re not too difficult to get hold of which is awesome.
